[Android] Run android on your PC
Posted by genoxide
Found this post over xda-developers and thought to share it with you all.
Ever wondered how Android would run, on better hardware? For example, on your…….PC?
Well XDA forum member apristel found some instructions on the net and managed to get Android up and running on his own PC!
You may have problems getting the internet to function, but apristel has advised putting your mobile device in tethering mode and plugging it into your PC.
The forum member has provided links to the required files – you can either burn the ISO image to CD and boot off that or use a tool called UNetBootin to make a USB flash drive bootable.
There is no need to install this to your hard drive to get it running – so there is no effect on your current OS.
To find the instructions a...
[Android] Sygic GPS (Cyprus & Greece maps)
Posted by genoxide
I've found this while searching for a decent GPS app for my Android phone and luckily i've found a blog of fellow cypriot which had included Cyprus and Greece maps in his package.
Below is a direct copy paste and i take no credit for his work.
Hello everyone
It's been a long time since my last post but now i am back and i hope that i won't be so busy again and update the site regularly. Today i am going to tell you how you can install the "Sygic Mobile Maps 10" into your smartphone, either Android, Symbian, WinMo.
I am from Cyprus and it's very hard to find something GPS-like for my country so i am going to post this guide to make my country mate's lives easier.
Let's begin

[Android] Get your HD2 to run Android
Posted by genoxide
I've been following the process of the guys over xda porting Android to run on the HTC HD2 and i must say i'm impressed. I've been running the build i'm posting below for 3 days now and it's stable enough for daily usage, the battery almost last 2 days and even more if you just use it for regular phone calls and texting.
Alright, lets get started!
When i first started messing with Android on HD2 i noticed i was getting the 'turbo-mode' almost every time i booted in Android, i searched a bit and found that the reason behind this was that i stayed too long in WinMO, so i search the xda forum and found a handy winmo app made by JMZ called "Android Dual-boot for HD2" which is currently on version 4 and does the job right, it even runs the "CLRCAD.exe" which enables sound in Android. That small app did what it should and i haven't noticed any "turbo-mode" sinc...

[Android] Get froyo (2.2) on your HTC Desire
Posted by genoxide
Got my desire for almost a month now, it is the first time i own an android device and i must say its a huge upgrade from the HD2 i previously owned.
Don't get me wrong here, i loved my hd2 but at times it seemed to be slow as hell due to the outdated winOS it had.
After owning the desire for less than 12 hours i started reading some topics at the xda forums and found myself trying to root the phone just for the fun of it! After almost 1 hour of failed attempts due to the lack of proper tutorials ( or because i didn't read the complete guides to the end? ) i managed to root it!
I started again, searching the xda forums to find some custom roms, like i was used to do when i had my HD2, but found 0 that had what i wanted, which was a shame because i saw there were many in Nexus One (google's baby) section and that was odd since both phones shared almost a 90% of the same hardware. Long story short, i flashed some ported roms of the N1 ph...
