[Survey] April Showers Bring May Flowers
I have been inside for the past couple weeks now, perfecting making paper flowers and beaded bees. I listen to music, trying to drown out the ever present trickling of the spring rain. Its too cold and wet to have fun outside, I absolutely cannot stand the rain. I sit infront of my fire place, dropping another log in when ever nescessary. A cup of warm tea sits beside me on a small side table I dragged to the fire place. I'm sketching various plants and flowers I plan on planting when its nice enough. Snapdragons and primrose for the bumble bees, milkweed and vervain for the butterflies, and sage, honeysuckle, and daylilies for the hummingbirds. I can almost see my garden blooming with color now. Gentle humming from the bees as i put on my gloves and get to work. Digging small holes, dropping seeds into each one. A perfect task of monotony for me, so soothing. I hope my Jewel berries are as successful as they were last spring. They add just the perfect amount of glimmer to my garden. And their gorgeous blue color compliments my sweetsap pods so well. It's even prettier at night, when my precouciously placed lanterns begin to shine. The beams of light hit the lantern fruit and sugar drop in the perfect way. The night's sky looks as if its been mirrored acrossed my front lawn. Orion absoloutley loves this time of year. The little guy is attracted to all the twinkling lights snacking on a few jewel berries here and there, maybe thats the cause of his constant dazzle? Summer nights are also my favorite. Gathering together with Antlia in the lawn chairs and eating his home-cooked meals are spectacular. While I watch the late night moths and grasshoppers prance around the garden, Antlia gazes on the stars, occasionally pointing out constellations and planets. My perfect day dream is inturrupted by Antlia's yelp from the kitchen. "Bentleyyyy!" he calls for me. I make my way over to him. "I need your help," he has an array of fruit he bought at the market, his fur was still wet from him outting. "I'm making your favorite." "Goodroop sugar drop pastries?!" I race to start cutting the goodroop, it gets all in my fur, but it so very worth it. I mix it into Antlias sugar drop flour mix. It forms a pretty blue dough. "Here," Antlia hands me a clump of the dough to start rolling out. We shape it into a crescent form. Antlia's always look better than mine do, but he says mine taste better than his. Highly doubt that though. Once all the crescents have been formed I hand the pan to Antila, who places it in the oven. It's waiting time. He hands be a pack of Detritos and we feed Orion. Ding. Antlia slides the pastries out the smell is magnificent. It's too hot for my paws so I place it on a napkin and blow to cool it off. Sinking my teeth into it it felt as if the weather cleared, the butterflies were out and I was spending my day with Antlia in the garden.
