The Armoured Quill (Loricatorum Sigillum Ericius; Armoured Seal Porcupine) is a venomous species native to the aquatic moon of Tidix-c. It bears striking bright sea green and orange sleek body covered in small rectangular scales, and carries a large high-spired shell and a large siphonal canal to accommodate their bodies. Their tail pokes out of a hole they make themselves in the back of the shell, which helps them maneuver quickly after prey. While rarely seen, the Armoured Quill does possess both front and back flippers, however the latter is only used when switching to a larger shell. The Armoured Quill frequently grooms it's shell, using it's venom as a shellac to deter predators, and when attacked will hide inside as defense, pushing it's largest flipper against the opening to seal them inside.

In comparison to a standard Xero, the Armoured Quill is 1/4 of their size, but can sometimes grow up to 1/3. The Armoured Quill comes in many colours to portray their venom to potential predators, however with evolution, many are inoculated to the venom. The Armoured Quill, when prepared correctly, can make a nutritious and rather delicious meal, for those who can stomach it.
