In our household we have 4 adults, we all use reusable water bottles to cut down on plastic. We are able to refill them using a filtered pitcher in the fridge, or if we are at the gym or other public location we can refill at a water fountain. When we do need large water jugs for things like camping, we will refill the jugs at a pump and filter it from a pitcher, or filter the water at home and refill the 3 gallon jug. We use a rain barrel to water outdoor plants or clean items outside.
