Apart from the paper, plastic and cans that get recycled in the Netherlands that I talked about in previous submissions we recycle many more things, from your usuals items to very specific and obscure things. Here are three more things about recycling in the Netherlands
- In the special recycling places (Waste collection points) there is many other things that get collected, think about different kinds of wood (treated and untreated), appliances, lightbulbs, batteries, garden wastes, craft materials like paint and household chemicals and many more. These locations are often free for residents or if you bring in hard to recycle items you pay a small fee. - Textiles and shoes are collected in special containers at the waste collection points and other places in the area, if the clothing is still usable you also have the option to put it in a donation bin spread around the country.
- We have two big bins for each house (depending on the area) one is household trash (general waste that isnt collected seperate) these go to to local sorting centers where it gets sorted out and then gets dealt with in the appropriate way depending on the items. And a bin for Compostables, this bin is collected regularly and composted.

With all these options recycling is a pretty normal thing in the country and changes are constantly being made to make it even easier and/or better. What I do myself is make sure that the things I trow away end up in the right bin and are cleaned when necessairy.
