Another thing I've been doing that I had started a couple months ago was recycling cardboard. A lot of bulk freezer items I buy when grocery shopping for some reason comes in two different packaging: the actual durable plastic packaging, and then large outer cardboard boxes (which honestly I feel is wasteful in my opinion) To make room in the freezer I take these items out of their outer box packaging, though this creates a lot of cardboard waste quickly. Instead of throwing these away in the trash like I used to though, I've been putting them in our recycling trash can outside. Not only does this help the environment, it also helps to not take up more space than needed in our household trashcans haha.
