In the Netherlands a lot of trash gets collected through a curbside collection system, how this happens varies per area. In my area biodegradable waste and house waste have their own big container, plastic and cans go in bags and cardboard/paper in boxes. on certain predetermaned days of the month one of these options gets put on the curbside and in the morning the trash collectors pic it all up.
