Sumatran Tiger - Panthera tigris sondaica
It is the only surviving tiger population in the Sunda Islands of Indonesia.
Tufted (AKA Crested) Puffin - Fratercula cirrhata
Their wingspan measures 35cm, making them the largest of all the puffins.
Red Wolf - Canis Rufus
When the Endangered Species Act of 1973 passed, formal efforts backed by U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service started saving our red wolves from extinction. A captive-breeding program was established here at the Point Defiance Zoological Gardens in Tacoma, Washington!
Meerkat - Suricata suricatta
They have the ability to Thermoregulate, which means they can keep their body temperature between certain boundaries, even when the surrounding temperature is much hotter.
Prickly Pear Cactus - Opuntia Cactaceae
Indigenous people also used Opuntia as a coagulant for an open wound, by using the pulp of the stem.
