X-1172: Ink

Ink was formed from the splicing of Owai-6's equivalent of a Komodo Dragon (known as Inkcertila, long-tailed, spiny lizard that feature a venomous bite. Inkcertila serve as a formidable foe to anyone that is unlucky enough to happen upon one on their expedition) and a Xero’s DNA. Following Ink's creation, he was released to Jurupa Forest to see if the xero would assimilate into Reserve life, or if his spliced XNA would warrant a more feral lifestyle. Ink, now in his adulthood, is still monitored by ARC's finest, and the experiment has yet to be deemed a failure or success...

 

Reclusive in nature, Ink finds comfortability in solitude. He prefers the serene setting of the unexplored and uninhabited to the hustle and bustle of everyday city-life. He has allowed only a very select handful of individuals to get close to him, one of which is Kiyo. Unlike their partner, Verox, Kiyo met Ink with a much more reserved nature and didn't poke and prod him with good-natured but overwhelming questions when the two discovered his existence following an assignment in the Jurupa Forest. Kiyo is a companion to Ink, and though the two's friendship consists of very few words, both are happy to exist solely in each other's company, and learn from each other without the need to converse. In fact, it was Kiyo who discovered that Ink was missing a fin on his tail, of which was altering his ability to balance on two legs and swim. Noticing this defect, Kiyo and Verox worked together to create a solution: A prosthetic tail fin that allowed for full range of motion and did not need any extra, outside assistance from anyone but the wearer. The only catch for Ink is that the fin material would have to be replaced every so often due to wear and tear.
