How X-200 became Nyx

“Congratulations X-200, we will have high expectations from you with a number like that”... She could still remember it like it was yesterday, the day she got told her number, the day everything went south. Those big special numbers really made people believe that you have to do great things with your life but all those high expectations also cause high pressure. Every bad score, every rebellious action, every wrong move was judged “X-200 we expect more of you, X-200 you should know better, X-200 bla bla bla” always the same story until the day she was fed up with it. She packed her stuff and ran, as a young Xero in the big world it was hard, there still were some people with mixed feelings about the Xeros and how they were created but she found her way. She discovered that she had a talent for computers and electronics and fell in love with programming and code, a skill that could have been used for many good things if only she hadn’t been in one of the biggest black markets in the entire solar system. Hacking could get her everything she wanted and more, no system was safe for her skills and people paid her to hack things, life finally got better. She changed her name to Nyx, a goddess of the night hoping nobody would ever call her X-200 again… hoping nobody would ever have these high expectations.
