[Gift] Beach Day

The sun slowly rose revealing a beautiful new day on Torini, in one of the homes a pink Xero slowly got out of her bed and walked towards one of the windows. “Today is a perfect day for the beach” she said while you could still hear the sleep in her voice. Further inland in Aberion another Xero was deep asleep when his phone rang “hmm 5 more minutes” but the phone kept ringing and he forced himself to get it. “Yeah” he said barely understandable, the voice on the other side was very enthusiastic sounding and it took him a few seconds to wake up enough to realize it was Coral. Coral was telling him to look outside at the beautiful weather and that she wanted him to come over to visit the beach, but I hate sand he thought while agreeing to everything she was saying “quick the next train leaves in 20 minutes” was the last thing he heard before she hung up. He looked at the clock on his wall and started getting ready, “20 minutes should be just enough, just have to make sure I don't forget my sandals”. 

Coral was right though the weather was absolutely amazing today and he enjoyed the sun peeking through the leaves of the trees while on his way to the station. The journey was short because of the fast trains and when he arrived he saw Coral waving at him, he smiled. “Spruce there you are, I knew you would make it on time, ready to go?” She was already walking away towards the beach before finishing her sentence. She loved the beach and when not making toys you would most likely find her wandering around in the sand and looking at the water. They walked from the station towards the giant Torini coast line while Coral told Spruce about her new toy ideas. “Isn’t it amazing” she said running into the sand and towards the water, “yes but please wait I have to put on my sandals” he quickly grabbed his sandals and put them on his paws. Coral laughed “why do you hate sand so much?” he shrugged and walked onto the beach “the feeling between my toes, the texture on my paws, I don’t know I just don't like it”. 

They walked along the coast line for a while and stopped for a drink at one of the beach bars when Coral suddenly stopped walking, “look at that” and she pointed at a clif close to the water. Spruce strained his eyes and focussed on the cliff face, “look at what?”. They moved closer “don’t you see, look really close they use good camouflage”, he looked again “yes, now I see, sea turtles!”. “Shhtt” she poked him “don’t scare them away”. The sea turtles had gray shells making it hard to spot them against the cliff face. Coral sat down on the sand and Spruce searched his bag for his beach towel, “come on just sit on the sand for once, it won’t kill you”. He looked at the horizon where the sun was slowly setting and then at the sand, he slowly sat down while taking a deep breath. “Thanks for the fantastic day” she said when leaning against him. Spruce could feel his cheeks turn red and smiled as they looked at the sea turtles and the setting sun.
