• Semi-Aquatic - lives at the bottom of the rainforest in moist, muddy areas
• Gains energy by means of photosynthesis and absorbing nutrients from mud and soil - both of
which are accessed and absorbed by internal tendrils that emerge during feeding and sunbathing. The openings along the back where the tendrils are housed stay closed when not in use. These tendrils also double as the reproductive organs
• In order to access the sun, they must climb to the tops of the trees during the warmest parts of the
day. When flared out to absorb the light, their “wings”, which are a thin membrane between their
forelegs and back legs, show off a pair of false eyes that trick predators below into leaving them alone
• Additionally, large glass-like eyes ensure a wide range of vision and movement detection, and their wing flaps allow for quick escape among the trees by means of gliding from branch to branch
