[Survey] Twilight Carnival - Sun & Ciri

“Ciri! Hey, Ciri!”

Ciri’s ear twitched as she heard her boyfriend’s voice calling her from afar.

The Twilight Carnival had begun, and Sun had invited her to explore the vast marketplace with him. It was a new adventure, something Sun was always looking for.

She watched as the excitable desert xero rushed up to her, holding what appeared to be two glasses of cider. Grinning, Sun offered her the hot drink.

“You have got to try this, it’s absolutely incredible! It’s a new flavor of sweetsap cider, and it is to die for! I bought us both some so we can walk around and stay warm from the inside, you know? This night market is cool and all, but boy I am freezing,” Sun emphasized the last part, holding his drink closer to him for warmth.

Ciri chuckled, taking the cider and sniffing it, before taking a sip and smiling. It was a lightly spiced drink, with hints of sweet and spicy playing on her tongue. In that moment she felt perfectly content.

“It’s definitely one of the better flavors I’ve tried, that’s for sure. Thanks for getting me one, Sun. I didn’t take you to be the chivalrous type,” She teased him lightly, patting him on the back with her free hand.

Sun snorted in laughter, “Yeah, sure, we’ll call it that. Totally wasn’t just me being selfish and wanting a drink for myself only to remember you’re here too.”

Ciri rolled her eyes and elbowed him, before taking his hand in her own.

“Which booths do you want to explore first then, Sun the chivalrous?”

Sun took a moment to scan the area, before pointing in a general direction, “Over there. I heard that they’re selling some cool clothes and such, could be some skate gear we could wear while boarding. I wouldn’t be opposed to some new gloves, what about you?”

Ciri shook her head, “I’m not opposed to that either, let’s go then! I need a new beanie anyways, this one is the only one I own after a boolew came and ate my other one.”

Sun grimaced, “I still can’t believe that happened, and you decided to keep it as a pet.”

Ciri rolled her eyes playfully, before pulling Sun towards the booth before he went off on a tangent. As cute as he was when he rambled, there was shopping to be done.

By the end of their time in the night market, Sun was carrying two large bags, heaving as he hauled them from the rows of shops. It wasn’t until they reached a fountain that he threw the bags down and rested on the fountain’s edge.

“When I said we were going to get more beanies, I didn’t expect you to buy five of them! All these jackets too! They’re cool as anything but man Ciri, your taste is expensive,” Sun teased, still a bit breathless. 

Ciri whistled, “I mean…we’re both guilty. You bought five pairs of gloves! We’re even, and you know it, Sunny.”

Sun blinked, before breaking out into a smile and laughing, “Yeah…I suppose we are. What’s the Twilight Carnival all about if not splurging a little, you know? Plus…if it’s for you I really don’t mind.”

Ciri smiled, leaning on Sun as they watched the night sky, surrounded by their purchases. The clothes were nice, but spending time together was even nicer.
