ID X-312, Wish. Log entry for Arc Survey 7. For the new year, my wish is to make more friends. I feel like I’ve got plenty of stuff to do on my own. Video games, research, maintaining my aquariums and terrariums. But I don’t have anyone to really share it with. It feels lonely.
I have other plans for this year too. There’s a little grotto in this forest that Meeko lives in, but it’s impossible to get into. I’ve been doing geological scans and there’s a path in, but I need lights, I need to build a sonar scanner so I can navigate more easily. I need cutting tools in case I have to cut my way through plants while underwater. Definitely gonna need Meeko’s help to swim around under there.
I’m hoping Gummi might be interested! He likes to do cooking stuff, and Boon’s teaching him all the time. But maybe I can go on little adventures with him. He’s spent all this time in the lab, I wonder if he even knows what kinds of places you can find in the wild.
Privately, I’m hoping I can find a partner. I’ve seen a lot of Xeros partner up and the relationships they have… I want that. I want that closeness, the feeling of wanting to shower someone in affection and have them do the same. Maybe it’s just loneliness in general. This kinda feels like what I wanted last year, only I’m more aware of it. Or the lack of it, rather.
I dunno where to even start though. Boon just has no restraint, Meeko just seems to be in the right place and the right time. What do I even do? It’s not like there’s some forum for lonely Xeros looking to meet up. Or at least if there are, it’s not the sort of thing I’m looking for. I want a close friend. A really close friend. A partner? A best friend? Something else? Just I want somebody to be close to.
Oh! I hope I get my new ship this year! I’ve been saving up, I got some of the little Wish Shards from the meteor shower a few days ago. I dunno how useful they are, but something about that told me I should look for a ship. I’m gonna get myself a decent sized multipurpose ship. I need something that can defend itself, I keep hearing about pirate activity, so just a freighter isn’t gonna cut it. But I need something that can actually house any specimens I collect. And something roomy! If I’m gonna be piloting around for days or weeks on end, it needs to be comfy. But not huge, I need to be able to handle the ship alone if I need to, and as good as I am, I’m still just one engineer. And it needs to be able to get places. If it’s too big, it literally won’t fit some of the places I’ll want to go. Might even find a cave or something and it would suck if it was a size that was just barely too small for the ship I have.
Okay, yeah. I want companionship, a new ship, and I want to get into that grotto. I’m convinced there’s an isolated ecosystem in there. That kinda sums up what I want for this year.
