[Survey] Take A Break
It was a rainy day in Aberion city and Sylvan was cuddled up in his home, a blanket around him and a cup of hot chocolate in his hands. The flickering light of a candle making the shadows dance on the walls as he stared out the window with a peaceful look on his face. Normally at this time of day he would be out in the forest, feeling the warmth of the sun on his fur, burning with intensity and soaking his fur with sweat while he trekked through the paths left behind by his own feet, collecting various fruits and foraging for anything useful enough to sell once he cleaned it up, whether it be mushrooms, leaves, twigs or even animal bones found on the dirt floor. Left after one of the predators had finished their meal and the remains were forgotten about after they lost their usefulness to the wild life forms within the forest. Sylvan also spent his time guiding the last stragglers and hikers of the day on the way back to the city, warning them about the dangers found within the dark of the night and not wanting anyone to spend a night alone in the eerie forest if he could help it.
Unfortunately, the sudden downpour of rain threw a wrench in his usual plans and he ended up staying home for the first time in the last two years he has lived in Aberion city, where Sylvan decided to just take it as the blessing in disguise that it was and take a break. It felt a bit weird if he was being honest, having absolutely nothing to do or nowhere to rush to other than the occasional need to refill his ceramic mug with hot chocolate. Heaving a sigh, Sylvan lifted said mug to his mouth and took a deep gulp, wanting to banish all thoughts from his mind and just enjoy the splattering of the rain on the ground, the occasional drop landing on his window and sliding down within a few seconds, gathering on the sill and forming a puddle. He could perceive the usual smell of wet dirt even from far away, the scent helping him clear his mind and focus on just that, Sylvan minutely relaxing in a way very few other things managed quite easy and so fast at the same time.
He got up and placed his now empty mug on the side table next to the window seat he was previously curled up in, watching the flickering flame of the wax candle beside it for a few seconds before leaning down to blow it out, leaving the room in total darkness for a couple moments before his eyes adjusted to the lower amount of light. He grabbed his dirty mug and placed it on the dishwasher, telling himself that he'd wash it the next day and trudging towards his room at a slow pace. He grabbed his blanket and curled up in bed, slowly closing his eyes while thinking that even though he didn't want the break at first, it was something he had actually needed.
