Anniversary Party

The day of the big anniversary celebration was finally here!

Dawn awoke early, well rested and bright eyed, and had herself a large breakfast. "It's the big day!" she said, as she made her way around her kitchen gathering ingredients. "I need lots of energy and there's no time to waste!" She ate quickly, devouring a mound of cut fruit and several little sausages on a plate before her in only a few mouthfuls.  Juice from the fruit dripped down her chin as she made her way around her house, preparing for the nights festivities.

It only took an hour or so, and when she finally finished, she let out a huge sigh of relief and sat down to admire her work. There were ru berry streamers in the doorways, little ru berry tea lights scattereed about, softly glowing blue, and even a huge ru berry pinata hanging from the ceiling. Servings trays of colorful and delicious looking ru berry inpsired treats were also set out, along with little plates, cups and a huge bowl of blue colored liquid, that one could easily assume was ru berry punch.

"Wee! Everything looks great, I can't wait for everyone to see!" she said, while getting up and heading out the door.  She had almost made it down her front porch stairs before she realized she had forgot one last thing. "My flyers!" she exclaimed. She quickly ran back inside, grabbed a stack of paper sitting on an end table next to one of the ru berry tea lights, stuffed them in her pouch, and headed on her way.

The weather outside was a little ominous looking, but was supposed to clear up by the time the festivites started, and she had been preparing all week and couldn't wait to share her plans with Malour. The journey to Malour's house was long, but not too long, and by the time she made it, she had broken out into a light sweat.

"Malour! Malour!" she exclaimed, approaching the front door, her hand already balled to knock.

"WHAT?!" said Malour playfully, as she pulled open the door just as Dawn was knocking. "You always act like I can't hear you with those big clompers, huh?"

"...Ah, yea I guess I kinda do," she replied, bashfully looking down at her hooves. She had alwasy been slightly insecure about them, because they did tend to make a lot of noise and could draw unwanted attention.

"Anyway, let me see!" Malour said and Dawn reached into her pouch and pulled out the flyers for tonights party. "They look great, Dawn. I'm sure the party's gonna be a hit! C'mon, let's go plaster these babies up. I'll grab some tape."

Tape in hand, the two friends set out upon Harbor, plastering the fliers of their party where ever they could. With teammwork and Dawn's height and Malour's small size, they were able to get to places that would have otherwise been unaccesible, plastering a small portion of the city with the news of their party. When they finally ran out of flyers, they headed back to Dawn's house, to wait patiently for the guests.

The wait seemed forever, but finally, the doorbell rang. "Yipee!" shouted Dawn, upon hearing the chime."Someone's here!" She made her way to the door, Malour close behind. When she opened it and they saw what was on the other side, her jaw dropped. "Not just someone, a WHOLE buncha people!!!" exclaimed Malour. Dawn tapped her hooves together in happiness and opened the door as wide as it would go, letting the small crowd of people inside.

Before long, the party was in full swing and a dull roar of laughter and conversation could be heard. The serving trays of food slowly started to disappear and the punch bowl was refilled more than once and soon, it was dark outside. The pinanta had almost gone unnoticed, but finally someone spoke up and after a good beatdown, it relinquisehd it's treasure, reavling tiny, gummy ru berry candies. Not long after, did guests finally start to leave and Malour and Dawn made their way to the door. "I think we can say it was indeed a hit. I told you," Malour said to Dawn, as they thanked everyone and said goodbye as they left. Dawn grinned, nodded, and wiggled her ears while Malour just looked at her and laughed.
