Hostile deserts

With the papers all deciphered, Avi, Levi and Fenrir had figured out where  Fenrir's next trip would go, but they weren’t happy about it. The notes all pointed to a spot in a desert on planet Magua G8V. It would not only be a long trip but a dangerous one as well. The inhabitants of Magua G8V were rather… old school you could say, they didn’t like fancy technology and Fenrir imagined that they probably wouldn’t be a fan of Xero’s either.

First he joined a crew of traders on their trip to get to a neighboring planet of Magua G8V, he managed to convince them by offering help with cleaning the ship and helping with the dishes in the kitchen. Next he snuck on a smaller ship of traffickers to get to Magua G8V itself. The planet consisted of deserts with several big and small cities all over the place, the spaces in between where a dangerous and lawless no man's land.

He pulled the hood a bit lower just above his eyes so his face layed in its shadow and walked over the harbor looking for any indication of where on the planet he ended up. ‘Hey, move aside!’ A big muscular shark looking man pushed him and he almost fell over. The man looked at him with a stern look, ‘are you new here or something?’ Fenrir looked at him ‘I’m just visiting a friend’. The shark came closer and stook out his arm towards Fenrir's hood, ‘don’t’ Fenrir said and he took a step back. A big grin of sharp teeth came very close to his face and he could smell the shark's fishy breath ‘be careful little guy the next person you run into might not be as nice as I am’ he pushed Fenrir one more time and walked away.

Fenrir walked around a bit more trying to avoid any more of the locals when he heard glass shatter somewhere on his left, ‘and don’t come back you rotbrained idiot’. It was a bar and it sounded like the barkeep had just thrown someone out of the establishment. Or… well it was a building basically falling apart held together by many loose pieces of metal, wood and ropes. He looked through the broken window and noticed a map hanging on the wall and a sign reading ‘Hallowind’s local rum’ above a huge vat filled with what Fenrir assumed was some kind of homebrewed rum. He walked inside and sat at the barstool close to the map, ‘one rum please’ he knew it probably wasn’t the safest drink to choose but he had to keep on the right side of the barman and stay unnoticed as much as possible. From the corner of his eye he started to look at the map searching for Hallowind along the small coastline of the planet. The body of water on this planet was barely worth the name sea but it was the biggest one, the others consisted of a few small lakes and some oasis dotted around the desert. On the north west of the sea he spotted the harbor he was looking for, great he thought to himself at least I’m on the right side of the planet this shouldn’t be too hard and he grabbed the small glass of the table to take a sip. It was hard to keep a straight face, this local rum was definitely not for the weak drinker.

The following few days Fenrir made sure to stay under the radar traveling from oasis to oasis using a Geribia a native animal to Magua G8V used to travel around the desert. After five days he finally arrived at the right location, he bought a map from the man that also sold him the Geribia. It was a rock formation surrounded by sand as far as the eye could see, he started climbing it and noticed some writing in a crack just big enough for him to fit into. It was written in a Rosicrucian Cypher, one Fenrir was pretty familiar with so it didn’t take him long to decipher it all.

If you find this place it means that you are one step closer to finding my biggest discovery yet, the lost city of Delphthys. I spent many years of my life looking for this mysterious place and to keep it all a secret I decided to hide clues to its location on several of the planets I visited so that it would only be found by someone who’s skills are close to my own. I discovered that Delphthysis is located deep in the ocean of a planet located at the edge of a small galaxy.

Below the text was a list of letters and numbers either ‘L’, ‘R’ or ‘S’ followed by a number. Fenrir immediately suspected it to be directions to something, scribbled them on a piece of paper and started following them. He ended up right next to a smaller rock and noticed it had a weird but familiar symbol carved into it ‘I have seen this symbol before, it was in the metal bunker’ Fenrir scratched his head and started digging underneath the big reddish rock. A small rusted metal box was hidden in the sand, the rust had almost glued the lid to the bottom but Fenrir managed to open it with his pocket knife. Inside was another notebook filled with scribbles with small notes written around them. Stuck to the side of the box was a turquoise crystal that shimmered when hit by the sun. He opened his back and placed the box with the two items inside of it and started the journey back to Arez and the Crimson Cove.
